Our Board of Directors is elected from, and by, the membership to oversee the operations of your cooperative and work collectively to represent the best interests of their fellow members. As a member-owner of Otsego Electric Cooperative, you can vote for or run for a term on the Board of Directors. All directors are elected for a three-year term.
In accordance with Article IV, Section 3 of the Otsego Electric Cooperative, Inc. Code of Bylaws, a valid petition for nomination to the Board of Directors must be signed by fifteen (15) or more voting members of the Cooperative not less than (at least) seventy-five (75) days prior to the meeting. Please verify that the person signing is a member of record, if their name is not on the account, we have no way of verifying membership. If an account is in more than one name, the account is deemed to have joint members, therefore, only one member may sign the petition.
If you are considering running for our Board, please review our Bylaws prior to beginning the petition process to ensure you understand the Qualifications and Board Member Responsibilities. Bylaws can be viewed HERE!
